Ah, Valentine’s Day – the season of love, overpriced roses, and awkward first dates. Whether you’re planning a romantic evening or just need to impress your Czech crush, I’ve got you covered with some Czech vocab and phrases that will (hopefully) melt hearts faster than chocolate left in the sun.
In my latest Instagram post and YouTube short, I shared some must-know Czech words and flirty lines. Ready to sprinkle some romance into your language learning? Let’s go!
Czech Valentine’s Day Vocabulary (a.k.a. Words You’ll Whisper Over Candlelight) 💌
Objetí – Hug (Free, comforting, and always a good idea)
Pusa – Kiss (The perfect reward for learning Czech!)
Kytice – Bouquet (When you forgot to buy a gift, but want to look thoughtful)
Srdce – Heart (Also what you’ll break if you forget Valentine’s Day)
Čokoláda – Chocolate (Because love may fade, but chocolate is forever)
Láska – Love (The reason your wallet is empty this month)
More fun vocab to impress:
Rande – Date (Hopefully a success, but hey, at least you practiced Czech)
Miláček – Sweetheart (Or what you call your cat when you’re still single)
Romantic Czech Phrases to Use (or to Blame Me for Later) 💘
These phrases from my video are the ultimate romantic starters:
- Moc se mi líbíš – I really like you (Because “I swipe right” doesn’t have the same charm)
- Nechceš se mnou někam zajít? – Do you want to go out with me? (Works better than U wanna hang?)
- Miluju tě – I love you (Bold move, but YOLO, right?)
Need more lines? Try these:
Nemůžu na tebe přestat myslet – I can’t stop thinking about you (How wonderfully cheesy!)
Jsi úžasný/á – You are amazing (Instant ego boost for them)
Chci být s tebou – I want to be with you (I, honestly, don’t know what to add here :D)
Why Learn Czech for Valentine’s Day?
Sure, you could just give flowers and chocolates, but imagine whispering Moc se mi líbíš into your partner’s ear – that’s next-level romance. Plus, even if the date doesn’t go well, at least you learned some new vocabulary. Win-win, right?
Šťastný Valentýn! (Happy Valentine’s Day!) And remember, if all else fails, chocolate speaks every language.
Pa pa,
Ellen
